We all like to get a pat on the back for a job well done and enjoy that warm-fuzzy feeling we get from knowing that we made the right decision.
Two weeks ago I wrote a blog post about missed opportunities. The post garnered a few responses from friends; in each case the post opened a door for new investment strategies. In one response, I recommended looking at Exide Technologies (XIDE) as a stock that would experience some positive momentum due to President Obama’s comments during his 2011 State of The Union speech, where he mentioned the need for technological advancement through investments in alternative energy & increased use of hybrid & electric vehicles.
Since making that recommendation Exide’s stock has risen 20%. Seeing the stock rise after making the recommendation validated that I made a good recommendation and created an opportunity to help a friend by providing solid information.
There is a danger to seeking validation as an entrepreneur though, and I will revisit the topic in a future post.
